Refund policy

How registration fees are refunded, including Level 2 attendance.

1. Student cancellation

If a student or parent cancels registration voluntarily, the registration fee will generally not be refunded once registration is confirmed, except where required by applicable law or approved under the organiser's refund policy.

2. Examination cancelled by JSTE

If JSTE cancels the examination and does not provide a rescheduled examination, the full registration fee will be refunded.

3. Examination rescheduled

If JSTE changes the examination date, the student's registration remains valid for the rescheduled examination. If the student cannot attend, the parent may not request a refund.

4. Duplicate payment

If the same registration fee is paid more than once for the same student, the duplicate payment will be refunded after verification. Write via Contact or Grievance.

5. Technical issues

If a verified technical problem on the examination platform prevents a student from completing the examination, JSTE may provide a re-examination or refund, depending on the circumstances.

6. Refund processing

Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 7–10 working days, subject to payment provider processing times.

7. Legal rights

Nothing in this policy limits any rights or remedies available to students or parents under applicable Indian law.

8. Mandatory attendance for Level 2

  • Students who qualify in Level 1 are required to attend Level 2 to remain eligible for scholarship selection.
  • Attendance in Level 2 is mandatory for all Level 1 qualified candidates.
  • If a qualified candidate fails to attend Level 2 for any reason, the candidate will be considered absent and will not be eligible for scholarship selection.
  • The registration fee paid for JSTE will not be refunded merely because a qualified candidate fails to attend Level 2.
  • No refund or transfer of the registration fee will be provided for voluntary non-attendance, subject to applicable law and the exceptions stated above.
  • Parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring that their child attends Level 2 on the announced date and time.
  • If the examination is cancelled or rescheduled by the organisers, sections 2 and 3 of this policy apply.

9. Parent / guardian acknowledgment

By completing registration, the parent or guardian understands that if their child qualifies in Level 1 of JSTE, attendance in Level 2 is mandatory for scholarship eligibility. Failure to attend Level 2 will result in loss of scholarship eligibility, and the registration fee will not be refunded solely due to non-attendance, subject to applicable law and this refund policy.
